Apollo Global Acquires Direct ChassisLink, Blume Global

Apollo Global Management acquired Direct ChassisLink Inc. and Blume Global Inc. from EQT Infrastructure, according to a joint news release from Apollo Global and Direct ChassisLink.

Financial terms were not disclosed, and Apollo and Direct ChassisLink declined comment beyond the news release. New York-based Apollo also declined to confirm a news report that it had spent $2.5 billion to acquire majority ownership of the two trucking-related firms.

Chassis manufacturer CIMC Intermodal Equipment is readying a name change to CIE Manufacturing and has plans to move container chassis production to the United States from China.

The production move was compelled by the trade war between the two countries, CEO Frank Sonzala told Transport Topics .

Dorsey Intermodal is on track to fulfill an agreement to supply more than 5,000 new chassis for the South Carolina Ports Authority, the trailer manufacturer announced Nov. 8.

The chassis are on schedule for delivery early next year. Dorsey Intermodal will provide the chassis with support from its Vietnam-based manufacturing partner, Thaco Special Vehicles.

NACPC Acquires Pratt Industries, Will Build Its Own Chassis

SEA Electric announced durability testing for its Class 6 SV6 E stripped chassis package is scheduled to begin in the third quarter, and volume assembly to begin in first quarter of 2023.
